CALPIRG is a nationwide nonpartisan student-run policy advocacy group. At the time of my involvement, the organization championed three main campaigns: the Plastic-Free Seas, New Voters Project, and COVID-19 response campaigns. As a Media Intern, I coordinated the marketing and communications of all campaigns with a special focus on the Plastic-Free Seas campaign.
Opinion Editorials and Letters to Editors
As the lead for Op-Eds and LTEs at CALPIRG UCSD, I hosted writing workshops to guide other student activists on composing letters to be submitted to local publications, including the San Diego Union-Tribune. I also compiled a list of viable outlets and media contacts for article submission. Several letters composed during the workshop I led were published online by media outlets.
