UCSD Division of Social Sciences

UC San Diego's Division of Social Sciences comprises 15 programs and makes up 35 percent of all programs offered at UCSD. As a Communication Assistant, I liaised among faculty, donors, alumni, and students to drive internal and external outreach strategies.

Web Copies

I used Cascade CMS to navigate the website architecture and composed web copies and graphic designs in observation of UCSD's brand guidelines.

Articles

Grad SLAM is an annual University of California public speaking contest, where graduate student participants must condense complex topics into jargon-free and engaging TED-style talks. To boost engagement within the UCSD community and bring light to the UCSD campus champion Yazdi's fascinating research, I co-authored a feature article which is published on the UCSD News Center, an online publication distributed to faculty, staff, alumni, and graduate and undergraduate students.

Graphic Designs

Using Figma and Adobe Photoshop, I created a graphic element for UCSD's Division of Social Sciences that is displayed on the institution's homepage hero module. The graphic spotlights exemplary students of the Social Sciences and is linked to a webpage detailing their stories and accomplishments.

Additionally, I also produced a design for a module on the Division's homepage, which was styled on Cascade CMS. The accompanying web copy is linked in the section above, and accessible here .

Social Media Content

To promote the accomplishments of select students in the Social Sciences, I posted a series of Facebook posts to allow the Division's audience (faculty, staff, alumni, and current and prospecting students) to "meet our students."
